NON-DUALITY - Sanskrit - Advaita -
LIMINALITY
These photos are inspired by the buddhist concept of non-duality and/or a/the state of Liminality.
Liminality is a state of transition between one stage and the next, especially between major stages in one’s life or during a rite of passage.
The concept of liminality was first developed and is used most often in the science of (the study of human origins, behavior, and culture). In a general sense, liminality is an in-between period, typically marked by uncertainty.
My photos are generally inspired by the Buddhist concept of non-duality and the state of liminality.
**Liminality** (from the Latin root *limen*, meaning "threshold") refers to a state of transition between one stage and the next, especially between major stages in life or during rites of passage. It is a period of in-betweenness, often marked by uncertainty and transformation. Originally developed and used in the study of human origins, behavior, and culture, liminality captures the essence of being on the cusp of change.
**Non-Duality** (Sanskrit: Advaita - अद्वैत) in Buddhism is the understanding that all distinctions, such as self and other or subject and object, are illusory. It reflects a deeper truth of interconnectedness and unity in all things, emphasizing the dissolution of perceived boundaries to realize the oneness of existence.
These photos explore these themes, inviting viewers to experience the fluidity of identity and the interconnected nature of reality.”
